PG National at U of Arkansas Baum Stadium

Perfect Game at one time was planning on holding baseball's top showcase event (Perfect Game National Showcase) at Kaufman Stadium in Kansas City. Also considered closely were Fenway Park in Boston, Metrodome in Minnesota, Petco Park in San Diego and Coors Field in Denver.

Previous years this prestigious event was held in Tropicana Field (Devil Rays) and last year it was held at Turner Field (Braves). The goal is always to hold the event in a Major League Park. In fact, only in 2002 was it held outside a Major League Stadium. So it is somewhat disappointing that this years National Showcases will not be held in a Big League Park.

We worked endlessly trying to figure out how to schedule the event around other commitments at the various MLB Parks. Also, we work very closely with USA Baseball and considered the advantage of Fayetteville being only an hour drive away from Joplin, MO where the USA Baseball Tournament of Stars is played a day after the PG National ends. A large number of PG National players also attend the Joplin event each year. This year's location for the National makes this a very easy travel situation for USA Baseball. USA players will have a distinct advantage due to the PG National location. Scouts and College recruiters will also save greatly in travel expense and time. We expect the largest group of highest level scouts and college coaches ever.

In the end, we thought the very best location that could effectively handle the event in a first class way was Baum Stadium at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Baum Stadium is one of the very best College Stadiums in the country. Here is a

We sincerely thank the Arkansas staff for their interest in holding this big event at their park. We think everyone will be extremely happy with this selection. There will be many things we will be able to do, that were impossible in the Big League Parks and of course, the entire event will be filmed for viewing on

Top prospects from coast to coast have started to sign up for this great event. The history of the PG National shows that it's, by far, the number one producer of early draft picks of all individual showcase type events.
