EMERSON, Ga. - In a game that saw a combined 26 runs between both teams the Georgia Florida Boys outlasted Tennessee Elite to capture the title of the 2017 PG 12u Super25 Georgia Super Qualifier. In a 15-11 victory, the Georgia Florida Boys jumped out to an early 14-0 lead that wavered, but did not vanish.

The offense was clicking on all cylinders early on for the Georgia Florida Boys and the numbers two and three hitters had a lot to do with that success. Hayden Gustavson and Grant Gallagher went a combined 5-for-7 in the game with a combined six runs scored and five RBI. It was a nightmare facing them back-to-back in a lineup that could hurt you in all areas.

Tennessee Elite fought back after their 14-0 deficit through three innings. They would score eleven runs in innings three through five, but were held scoreless in the bottom of the sixth inning as their comeback attempt was for naught.

Qrey Lott came into the game to close out the victory for the Florida Georgia Boys. He only pitched the one inning but was the only pitcher in the game to not give up an earned run.

Dawson Mock of the Florida Georgia Boys was named tournament MVP. Mock hit .615 for the event with two home runs, five runs scored, and seven RBI. Daniel Parris of Tennessee Elite was named MV-Pitcher. He tossed 5.2 innings of two-run baseball while recording one win and striking out ten batters.

EMERSON, Ga. - The championship final for the 2017 PG 11u Super25 Georgia Super Qualifier saw a successful comeback attempt as the Kennesaw Generals fought back to defeat the East Cobb Astros by a score of 8-7.

Both teams traded blows in the first inning and the score was tied at three apiece heading into the second frame. The Astros would score four runs over the next three innings to claim a 7-3 lead heading into the late innings.

The Generals were ready to fight back and they proved to be up to the task. They scratched and clawed back into the game by scoring two runs in the fourth and fifth innings to tie the game at seven heading into the final frame.

The Generals quickly loaded the bases with one away in the bottom of the sixth. A ground ball error by the Astros allowed the winning run to score and the Generals were tournament champions.

Wesley Parsons of the Kennesaw Generals was named MVP. Parsons led the team in hits and batting average (six, .545) to go along with four RBI and two runs scored. Avery Shiflett of the East Cobb Astros was named MV-Pitcher. Shiflett tossed a complete game shutout in the semifinals that included six innings pitched, only three hits, and two strikeouts.
