East Roster

#14, Nick Bitsko, RHP, 2021

Travel Team: Bucks County Generals/Tri-State Arsenal | College Commitment: Virginia

At 6-foot-3, 200-pounds with room to only grow stronger moving forward, it’s easy to see what the Virginia coaching staff saw in Bitsko last fall when they committed him. Being that tall and long at such a young age, Bitsko’s athleticism is on display with his overall coordination on the field, which he takes with him to the mound. The arm action is both loose and easy for the Pennsylvania native and nothing about him on the mound suggests his age, from his upper-80s fastball to his present feel for a pair of secondary pitches.

#42, Irving Carter, RHP, 2021
6-3/185, R-R, Trinity Christian Academy (Boynton Beach, Fla.)
Travel Team: Elite Squad Prime 2021 | College Commitment: Miami

What’s impressive about the 6-foot-3 Carter isn’t so much his present velocity – which is noteworthy as he’s already working into the upper-80s with a clean release – but his overall ability to mix and pitch. Carter, an early Miami commit, spots his fastball to his glove side as well as any pitcher in this year’s PG Select Baseball Festival, allowing him to unlock both his late diving changeup and short-breaking curveball. Carter’s comfort in his arsenal is evident as he isn’t afraid to double or triple up on either pitch, keeping hitters off balance while missing plenty of bats along the way.

#9, Bryant Colon, OF, 2021
5-11/165, R-R, Florida Virtual HS (Greenacres, Fla.)
Travel Team: Banditos Scout Team | College Commitment: Miami

Set to begin his high school career in the spring, Colon has already established himself as one of the more consistent players at the 14u level in terms of offense. Just take a quick look at his numbers from this summer: In 65 at-bats over 26 games Colon hit a robust .462 with nine doubles and three triples while showing his speed component and intelligence on the bases with 23 stolen bags. Colon, a future Miami Hurricane, utilizes an all-fields approach and shows an innate ability to barrel up the baseball regardless of the opposing pitcher.

#25, Alex Edmondson, RHP, 2020
6-2/185, R-R, Mauldin HS (Simpsonville, S.C.)
Travel Team: Team Elite Prime | College Commitment: Clemson

Edmondson made a noticeable jump from last summer to present day in terms of his arsenal and fastball velocity, though that was expected from a then 14-year old who still had plenty of growing to do. Now the 6-foot-2 righthander is running his fastball upwards of 91 mph with plenty of arm speed and angle at release. While he continues to develop his arsenal Edmondson also continues to make strides to his delivery which allows for better consistency in terms of throwing strikes, unlocking his late-sweeping slider which he can use as a chase pitch down in the zone.

#5, Giuseppe Ferraro, SS/3B, 2020
6-3/187, R-R, American Heritage HS (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.)
Travel Team: Elite Squad 15u Prime | College Commitment: Miami

Ferraro burst onto the national scene this summer with Elite Squad 15u Prime and did so in a loud way, hitting .441 on the circuit over 59 at-bats while showing strength off the barrel while swinging a wood bat. Ferraro is one of the more physically impressive players in Fort Myers for the PG Select Baseball Festival with broad shoulders and a well-proportioned frame, one that will only continue to develop moving forward. His overall power, like his swing, is extremely easy and comes natural, as Ferraro shows a simple shift into contact with natural leverage and hard jump off the barrel.

#6, Dorian Gonzalez, SS, 2021
5-9/165, L-R, Belen Jesuit Prep (Miami, Fla.)
Travel Team: X Baseball

What Gonzalez possesses and helps set him apart from other players at the 14u age level is his pure and balanced lefthanded swing. With plenty of looseness to his hands and an inherent ability to put the barrel to the ball, Gonzalez showed off his hitting talents at the inaugural 14u Perfect Game National Showcase, picking up a few extra-base hits as the ball jumped off the barrel of his bat. He also impressed with his abilities up the middle of the infield defensively where he displayed soft hands, a nice bounce to his step and range to either side.

#7, Brady House, SS/RHP, 2021
6-2/190, R-R, Winder-Barrow HS (Winder, Ga.)
Travel Team: Team Elite Nation

Another player that is part of the long line of talent from the Team Elite program in Georgia, House is one of a few true two-way prospects at the next level as the 6-foot-2 rising freshman excels on both sides of the ball. He has plenty physical projection and stands out at shortstop and in the batter’s box thanks to his defensive instincts, arm strength and ability to drive the ball to all fields. His arm strength translates onto the mound as well with an upper-80s fastball and an advanced feel for a late-diving changeup.

#34, Joey Mack, C, 2021
6-0/182, L-R, Williamsville East HS (Williamsville, N.Y.)
Travel Team: Tri-State Arsenal

Mack’s older brother Charlie is a 2018 prospect with a commitment to Clemson in hand and Joey Mack appears to be following the same path as his older brother. Making his way from upstate New York, Mack brings with him a tool set that revolves around his power, whether it’s his lefthanded swing or throwing arm behind the dish. Mack, while loose and flexible behind the plate with his actions, made his loudest impressions this summer offensively, showing standout bat speed and over-the-fence power.

#19, Jayden Melendez, C, 2021
5-8/160, R-R, Westminster Christian (Palmetto Bay, Fla.)
Travel Team: FTB

Melendez’ name may be familiar to baseball fans as his father Mervyl is the head coach at Florida International and his brother M.J. is a former PG All-American and second round pick in 2017. The baseball gene runs strong in the family and Jayden is an impressive prospect. A primary catcher, Melendez shows refined catch-and-throw skills you won’t often find at this level, sticking pitches with loose actions and strong hands which complements his strong throwing arm. He’s also a threat with the bat as he’s able to impact the baseball with rising line drive contact and plenty of balance to his swing.

#22, Carson Montgomery, RHP/OF, 2020
6-2/180, R-R, West Orange HS (Windermere, Fla.)
Travel Team: Power Baseball | College Commitment: Florida State

Montgomery took part in his first Perfect Game showcase last December and came to that event as a primary outfielder with obvious athleticism, speed and arm strength. Now Montgomery excels on the mound as well, bringing that athleticism and arm strength with him as he’s been upwards of 91 mph this summer with his heater. He’s able to miss bats with his full arsenal, and while his fastball is already one of the better ones in his age division, there’s plenty of reason to believe he’s only going to continue to climb as he fills out his long 6-foot-2 frame.

#10, Christian Moore, RHP, 2021
6-1/180, R-R, Cardigan Mountain HS (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Travel Team: MVP Beast

Following the footsteps of MVP Beast teammate Tim McHugh, who participated in last year’s PG Select Baseball Festival, Moore has already been courted by numerous high-end collegiate programs thanks to his abilities on the mound. He’s impressively built at 6-foot-1, 180-pounds with long limbs and present strength. Moore was a go-to option for the Beast this summer, picking up nearly a strikeout per inning thanks his fastball, which topped out at 87 mph with consistent downhill plane, and his 11-to-5 shaped breaking ball that showed tight rotation.

#4, Erick Pena, OF, 2021
6-3/180, L-R, Home Schooled (Santo Domingo, D.R.)
Travel Team: FTB Kudagra Royal

Pena looks to continue the trend of impressive talent from the Dominican Republic to suit up in the PG Select Baseball Festival after Estanli Castillo and Starlyn Castillo both donned East jerseys last year. Pena’s 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame instantly catches your eye and he put his athleticism on display at the 14u National Showcase in early August. Despite his long frame he managed to run a 6.83 60-yard dash while showing an above average arm for the age – 90 mph from the outfield – and a pretty lefthanded swing that projects extremely well.

#1, Joel Perez, Jr., SS/2B, 2020
5-10/155, R-R, Somerset Academy Charter (Miramar, Fla.)
Travel Team: Elite Squad Prime

The name of the game for Perez, Jr. is his advanced defensive skill-set, though that’s not to take away from what he’s able to do from the right side of the plate. A rising sophomore out of Miramar, Fla., who plays for a talented Elite Squad program, Perez, Jr. shows the type of defensive aptitude you won’t often find at this level as his instincts, actions, and IQ all stand out. He’s a projectable righthanded hitter and hit north of .300 in all four of his tournaments this summer, earning three All-Tournament selections, highlighted by his robust .424 average at the 15u BCS National Championship.

#8, Justin Quintana, OF, 2021
5-9/172, R-R, American Heritage HS (Miramar, Fla.)
Travel Team: Elite Squad Prime 2021 | College Commitment: Florida International

One of the earlier commits in the 2021 class, Quintana proved there wasn’t much he couldn’t do on the baseball field this summer, excelling offensively for Elite Squad. Quintana, a middle-of-the-order hitter on the national circuit, shows solid present bat speed with strong hands and loose wrists, offensive attributes that helped him hit .421 this summer with eight extra-base hits. His speed plays well both on the bases (10 stolen bags) and in center field where he patrols the gaps well and has a strong throwing arm.

#27, Nicholas Regalado, RHP, 2020
6-2, 218, R-R, Monsignor Edward Pace HS (Miami Lakes, Fla.)
Travel Team: MVP Banditos | College Commitment: Miami

Regalado has been well known on the 14u baseball circuit thanks in part to his strong, physical build and a right arm to match, producing an upper-80s fastball while looking like he’s just scratching the surface. Power is the name of the game for Regalado, who was throwing 88 mph or better in three different tournaments this summer, and he does so with a clean arm action and balance to his delivery. Over 16 innings Regalado managed to strike out 19 batters this summer and did so not just with his fastball, but also with a curveball which has continued to develop nicely.

#37, Carlos Rodriguez, RHP, 2021
5-11/166, R-R, South Miami Senior HS (Miami, Fla.)
Travel Team: MVP Banditos | College Commitment: Miami

Although he’s not overly physical, Rodriguez is very loose and athletic and he has always shown advanced arm strength at Perfect Game events, highlighted this summer by bumping 92 mph. He was named the Most Valuable Pitcher of the 2016 WWBA Freshman World Championship and has continued to refine his craft on the mound, showing consistent plane to his fastball and a sharp curveball that serves as a swing-and-miss pitch.

#15, Alejandro Rosario, RHP, 2021
6-0/170, R-R, Miami Christian HS (Miami, Fla.)
Travel Team: Elite Squad | College Commitment: Miami

Another young Miami commit, the righthanded Rosario shows electricity in his right arm as he’s capable of running his fastball up to 93 mph and can sit in the low-90s for more than a couple of innings. If the velocity that Rosario generates isn’t enough, then factor in the excellent sinking life down in the zone, his ability to work to either side of the plate and the comfort he shows in both his changeup and slider, throwing all three pitches in his repertoire for strikes.

#18, Cole Wagner, 1B/LHP, 2021
6-0/188, L-L, Red Land HS (Lewisberry, Pa.)
Travel Team: GoWags Lumberkings

A true two-way talent that excels as a hitter and as a pitcher, there’s a sense of professionalism to everything Wagner does on the field. On the mound he works in attack mode and challenges hitters in as well as any pitcher in the country, working upwards of 87 mph with his fastball while mixing in a hard, low-80s cutter. Add in the fact that he’s a middle-of-the-order threat from the left side of the plate with real power and college recruiters are looking at two impact players for the price of one.

#21, Jeffery Waters, OF/RHP, 2020
5-11/185, R-R, South Cobb HS (Mableton, Ga.)
Travel Team: Team Elite Nation

Waters can throw 91 mph off the mound, can run as well as any player in the PG Select Baseball Festival and he has the raw strength to blast the ball to either gap. He’s also the youngest player in attendance as he won’t turn 14 until December. The tool-set lines up for Waters to be an impact two-way player at the next level as everything he does is done easily and he still projects extremely well. Waters finished the summer strong, hitting .341 with nine extra-base hits and 13 stolen bags.

#58, Mario Zabala, OF, 2020
6-1/185, R-R, International Baseball Academy (San Juan, Puerto Rico)
Travel Team: IBAHS Knights

Zabala already has attended three Perfect Game Showcases and he’s performed very well at all three earning top prospect honors, including his most recent showing at the 14u National Showcase. The first PG Select Baseball Festival selection from the island of Puerto Rico, Zabala has all the tools to stand out regardless of the setting as he possesses 6.5-second speed in the 60-yard dash, outstanding arm strength from the outfield (93 mph) and bat speed from the right side of the plate that helps generate notable pop.

#2, Kemp Alderman, 1B/RHP, 2020

Travel Team: Yalobusha Giants | College Commitment: Mississippi

Power is the best word to use to describe Alderman’s game, whether you’re describing his righthanded swing or his arm when he takes the mound. Extremely physical and well-proportioned, Alderman knows how to incorporate his strength into everything he does and it’s something he showed consistently throughout the summer. A .359 hitter this summer at Perfect Game events, Alderman produced some of the higher exit velocities on a regular basis to all fields, and also bumped 88 mph routinely on the mound, punching out 24 in just over 16 innings.

#19, Austin Bode, C, 2021
5-10/160, L-R, Columbus North HS (Columbus, Ind.)
Travel Team: Indiana Bulls Black 14u | College Commitment: Louisville

Austin Bode is a smooth swinging lefthanded hitting catcher who not only stands out for his offensive skills but also for his abilities behind the dish. He does a nice job of working the gaps and projects well with additional strength, which should help turn his doubles strength into over-the-fence power. There aren’t many players who were able to match Bode’s .556 average at the 14u WWBA National Championship this summer while displaying solid catch-and-throw skills.

#4, Brody Drost, OF/LHP, 2020
6-2/175, L-L, Barbe HS (Sulphur, La.)
Travel Team: Sheets Baseball

The latest in a long line of talent from perennial national powerhouse Barbe High School in Louisiana, Drost is a legitimate two-way prospect who has impressed on both sides of the ball. A primary outfielder, Drost has the bat speed and present physicality to be a middle-of-the-order presence as almost half of his base hits went for extra-bases this summer. His arm strength is evident as well as he threw 90 mph from the outfield at the 14u PG Series Classic and has also been up to 87 mph on the mound with a feel for his breaking ball. For the summer Drost struck out 43 batters in 24 of work.

#14, Petey Halpin, OF, 2020
5-11/155, L-R, St. Francis HS (San Mateo, Calif.)
Travel Team: BPA

A product of Northern California, Halpin made his presence felt in his Perfect Game debut at the 15u WWBA National Championship where he hit .412 en route to garnering All-Tournament honors. Halpin, a lefthanded hitter, shows one of the easier swings you’ll find at the 14u age group, and does so with an all-fields approach with strength off the barrel of the bat. Currently uncommitted, Halpin has the tools to make a difference defensively as well with solid closing speed and a strong arm in the outfield.

#8, Rawley Hector, RHP/SS, 2021
6-2/170, R-R, Anna HS (Van Alstyne, Texas)
Travel Team: Dallas Tigers-Goodwin

What stands out most about Hector on the mound is his ability to pitch and command the strike zone while mixing three pitches at will. With an easy arm action and clean, athletic delivery, Hector has been upwards of 87 mph with his heater while working in the mid-80s over the course of a game, and he shows an outstanding feel for his changeup, a pitch that clocks in consistently in the mid- to upper-70s. He’s also a talented shortstop who swings the bat well, showing a short and compact stroke with interesting power potential.

#7, Blaze Jordan, 1B, 2021
6-0/215, R-R, DeSoto Central HS (Southaven, Miss.)
Travel Team: Dulins Dodgers | College Commitment: Mississippi State

Jordan has an aura about him when he takes the field and he has the potential to leave the yard on any given swing. After performing well in last year’s WWBA World Championship as an eighth grader, Jordan impressed at all levels from 14u to 17u this summer, finishing the circuit by hitting .408 with 17 doubles, six home runs and 51 RBI. The bat speed and strength are very real for the young Mississippi State commit, as is his pitch recognition and ability to square up his pitch.

#11, Jordan Lawlar, SS, 2021
6-0/150, R-R, Jesuit College Prep (Irving, Texas)
Travel Team: Dallas Tigers

With an extremely projectable and loose 6-foot frame, Lawlar already shows the ability to impact the baseball with a wood bat, driving the ball hard to all parts of the field thanks to quick hands and a short stroke. Defensively he routinely displays smooth actions and soft hands to go along with above average speed down the line, running the 60-yard dash at the 14u National Showcase in early August in 6.78 seconds.

#9, Luke Leto, SS/RHP, 2021
6-2/180, L-R, Portage Central HS (Portage, Mich.)
Travel Team: HBF Maroons

In an event that features several legitimate two-way prospects at the next level, it’s Leto who may have the loudest tools on both sides of the ball. A lefthanded hitting shortstop from the state of Michigan, Leto shows the bat speed and strength combination you won’t often find at this level as he can impact the baseball to all parts of the field. When he takes the mound he looks the part of a high-end pitcher with a powerful right arm, running his fastball up to 91 mph while complementing it with a hard, late-breaking curveball.

#1, Daylen Lile, OF, 2021
5-11/165, L-R, Trinity HS (Louisville, Ky.)
Travel Team: Dulins Dodgers | College Commitment: Indiana

You only need a couple of swings from Lile to know his bat-to-ball skills are advanced from the left side of the plate, showing a simple yet repeatable swing. The MVP of the 14u Spring Kick Off before hitting .444 at the 14u WWBA National Championship, Lile already has his commitment taken care of and he’s a hitter the Indiana coaching staff is happy to have. Lile fits the mold at the top of the order with high contact skills, loose hands and a balanced swing. He also displays nice foot speed and stole nine bases this summer at PG events.

#40, Christian Little, RHP, 2021
6-2/160, R-R, Christian Brothers College (St. Louis, Mo.)
Travel Team: Midwest Prospects Scout Team

Little checks a lot of boxes that college coaches are looking for in a young prospect as he has a long and lean 6-foot-2 frame, shows an easy, fast arm action and possesses very good feel for his three-pitch arsenal. There’s plenty of balance and tempo to his delivery, which he repeats extremely well and has the comfort to throw any pitch in any count. Already up to 86 mph with his fastball, expect Little to continue to add velocity which will only make his late-diving changeup and sharp 12-to-6 curveball all the more effective.

#24, Ian Moller, C, 2021
6-0/170, R-R, Wahlert HS (Dubuque, Iowa)
Travel Team: Top Tier 16u

Moller plays up a few age levels for the Top Tier travel ball program and fits in well. Physically impressive with an aptitude for the game on both sides of the plate, Moller handles the barrel of the bat extremely well from the right side of the batter’s box and has shown no trouble adjusting to whatever pitch he sees at the dish. Behind the plate he’s just as impressive, showing advanced receiving skills for his age with strong wrists and solid arm strength on throws to second base.

#34, Izaac Pacheco, SS, 2021
6-2/185, L-R, Friendswood HS (Friendswood, Texas)
Travel Team: Banditos Black | College Commitment: Texas A&M

Pacheco, who’s an early commit to the Aggies of Texas A&M, has a strong and athletic 6-foot-2 frame and shows all the actions to stay on the left side of the infield at the next level with soft hands and a strong throwing arm across the diamond. His loudest tool currently is his lefthanded bat as he’s able to drive the ball to the gaps, creating plenty of torque in his hips before unloading on the ball with notable whip through the zone.

#18, Roismar Quintana, OF, 2021
6-1/160, R-R, Guatire, Venezuela

With teams showing an ever-growing interest in international prospects, scouts have had to work at an earlier rate, similar to college recruiters, to identify the top talent, especially given that these players are eligible to sign upon turning 16 years old. One of those players who is already standing out is young Venezuelan Roismar Quintana, who is set to make his move stateside just prior to the PG Select Baseball Festival. On the field he shows an intriguing collection of tools, from his righthanded bat to his arm strength and foot speed.

#3, Roc Riggio, OF, 2021
5-9/155, L-R, Chaminade Prep (Simi Valley, Calif.)
Travel Team: GBG Marucci | College Commitment: UCLA

Riggio made quite the impression during his time in Georgia this summer as he hit .391 with two home runs, two majestic blasts to his pull side at the 15u WWBA National Championship in mid-July. Even Riggio’s outs were loud as he barrels up the ball on a regular basis and has an advanced understanding of how to hit and use the entire field. He’s able to generate plenty of whip to his barrel through the zone and is able to maximize his strength on every swing. Riggio is also a strong runner and an advanced defender in the outfield, able to play any of the three positions at a high level.

#5, Isaac Rodriguez, SS, 2021
5-9/155, R-R, Murrieta Valley HS (Murrieta, Calif.)
Travel Team: GBG Inland Empire

Rodriguez has a strong showing at the 14u National Showcase in early August as he displayed an impressive skill-set that stood out immediately. Defensively he displays smooth actions up the middle of the infield with plenty of quickness and balance to his footwork. He also shows some of the softer hands you will find at this age, picking the ball extremely well to either side. In the batter’s box he does a nice job of staying short to the ball with quickness to his hands and whip to his barrel through the zone.

#12, Noah Smith, SS, 2021
6-0/155, R-R, Marist HS (Chicago, Ill.)
Travel Team: White Sox ACE

There’s a lot to like when watching Smith play, both for his current talents up the middle on defense and what you can envision him transforming into once he has reached physical maturation. He’s full of quick-twitch muscle, showing smooth and loose actions up the middle to complement a strong, accurate arm across the diamond. Smith’s righthanded swing is just as strong of a tool as he does a nice job of staying balanced with plenty of quickness to his hands and projectable strength.

#27, Grant Taylor, RHP, 2021
6-2/200, R-R, Florence HS (Florence, Ala.)
Travel Team: Team Elite Nation

Taylor appears to be the latest in line of hard-throwing pitchers from Florence High School in Alabama, following former PG All-American Braxton Garrett and 2018 LSU commit Cole Henry. Taylor is already bumping 91 mph on his fastball with what looks like minimal effort out of his hand. He’s one of the more physically impressive players, with a strong, broad-shouldered build, and looks more like a rising senior on the mound. It’s still easy to project future improvements for Taylor given his arm action and overall delivery, and his slider has also continued to evolve into a true swing-and-miss pitch with hard, late-biting life.

#51, Hunter Teplansky, SS, 2021
6-2/150, S-R, Belton HS (Temple, Texas)
Travel Team: Texas Stix

There aren’t too many other players participating in the PG Select Baseball Festival who can match the physical projection of Teplansky as he stands at a long and athletic 6-foot-2, 150-pounds. A switch-hitting shortstop, Teplansky really opened eyes at the Sunshine South Showcase earlier this summer where he was one of the most talented players despite also being one of the youngest. His bat speed and ability to barrel up the baseball are impressive from both sides of the plate and will only continue to improve with added strength. His arm strength and defensive actions are also noteworthy as he’s been up to 88 mph on throws across the diamond.

#00, Tyler Whitaker, RHP, 2021
6-3/170, R-R, Arbor View HS (Las Vegas, Nev.)
Travel Team: LVR | College Commitment: Arizona

Standing at 6-foot-3, 170-pounds, Whitaker is an easy arm to project and he’s already been up to 87 mph earlier this year with his fastball. He does a nice job of staying short through the back, throwing plenty of strikes within the zone while working to both sides of the plate. His pitchability is just as noteworthy as he’s able to throw both his curveball and changeup with comfort, replicating his arm action very well through his release. A talented overall athlete, he also stands out for his play up the middle on defense and for his loose righthanded swing.

#10, Ethan Wood, RHP, 2021
6-5/200, R-R, Trinity HS (Louisville, Kent.)
Travel Team: East Cobb Astros | College Commitment: Louisville

At 6-foot-5 Wood is the tallest player in this year’s PG Select Baseball Festival and when he toes the rubber he becomes all the more intimidating to opposing hitters. Already committed to his hometown Louisville Cardinals, Wood shows one of the more impressive right arms in the country and it’s one that is only going to improve. Wood is already capable of running his fastball up to 89 mph and can sit comfortably in the upper-80s, showing a long and loose whip-like arm action which also helps generate short sinking life down in the zone.
