5/5 Game Recaps

8:00 AM- The first game of our 11U FL Super Qualifier was a great matchup between Gulf Coast Monarchs 10U and Gulf Coast Waves. It was a 2 run game all the way until the 6th when the Monarchs exploded for 4 more runs to make it a final score of 6-1. 3B Alan Overmyer led the charge for Monarchs offensively with 2 hits including a double, RBI, and run scored. 3B Grayson Carpenter also had a pair of hits for the Waves.

The other early 11U game was between two Florida Force teams (10U and 11U). The 11U Force squad took an early lead, 10U Force chipped away late to make it a close game, and then the 11U went on a hitting spree in the top of the 5th to run away with it. They put up 15 runs on 7 hits and were powered offensively by Nicholas Gonzalez, Lazaro Rodriguez, Ryan Marks, and Jerry Cruz who all had 2 RBI's a piece. Gonzalez and Marks combined for 5 runs scored as well. Force 10U were led by Stevie Perez who had 2 hits and a run scored.

11:00 AM- The Gulf Coast Monarchs 10U move to 2-0 in the tournament after a win over Florida Force 10U. The Monarchs were once again led at the plate by Alan Overmyer who had 3 hits including a double and 2 RBI's. Nicholas Raber also had 2 hits and an RBI for them. Landon Morrissey, Kayden Pledger, and Joseph Contreras threw a combined shutout and only let up 1 hit a piece.

1:00 PM- Gulf Coast Waves 11U get their first win of the day and improve to 1-1 in the tournament after a win over Florida Force 11U. Corbin Gilmore excelled at the plate and on the mound leading the team in hits with 2 and throwing a complete game. Through 6 innings he struck out 2 and only let 1 earned run on 4 hits. Joseph De La Nuez led the Waves in RBI's with 2.
