EMERSON, Ga. – The 12th Annual 14u WWBA National Championship kicks off on Friday, June 22 in northwest Atlanta. The tournament will run for a week at 23 different field locations in the area with a champion being crowned Friday, June 29 at the LakePoint complex.

This year’s field will consist of 138 teams, forming 16 pools of eight teams and one pool of 10 teams. Pool winners will be the only teams advancing to a single elimination championship bracket that will crown this year’s national champion.

Teams from Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Michigan, Texas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, California, Missouri, South Carolina, Illinois, Florida, Kentucky, Indiana, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Ohio, Colorado, Connecticut and Utah will be in attendance in what will be one of the most state-represented tournaments of the summer.

One team to watch out for during this year’s tournament will be the East Cobb Astros. The Astros took home the championship during the 14u Perfect Game/East Cobb Invitational earlier this month and will feature many of the same players from that tournament’s championship roster.

Five Star National Snyder took home second place in a thrilling championship effort against the East Cobb Astros. Similar to the Astros, they have a roster that includes many of the same players from that team, and they will be an exciting team to follow as play gets under way on Friday.

Past champions of the event include: East Cobb Astros (2007), East Cobb Astros (2008), Dulin Dodgers (2009), East Cobb Astros (2010), East Cobb Astros (2011), San Diego Show (2012), and Kentucky Baseball Club/Louisiana Tigers (2013), Upstate Mavericks (2014), East Coast Sox Prime 14U (2015), Roadrunners Baseball (2016) and Academy Select (2017).
