Canes southpaw Tucker Holland (2023, Gibsonville, NC) dazzled over the course of four innings as the Maryland commit was in control from the first pitch of the outing. At a listed 6-4, 230 pounds, Holland has immense size and physicality for a young arm and uses that strength to maintain his stuff throughout his start. The delivery maintains good rhythm and is fairly fluid and easy with a clean arm stroke that he repeats very well all while maintaining slot on all three of his pitches. The lefthander worked up to 86 mph and sat right in the mid 80's for the majority of the start, showing good life at times and good feel within the strike zone. The breaking ball was his go-to secondary pitch with good movement and depth with slurvy shape and really got some ugly chases. The changeup shows potential too as it’s firm in the upper 70's and worked well against righthanders. Holland is a fairly polished arm for the age and should only continue to develop nicely.
