Southeast Select Spring Scout Notes

Tennessee commit Jax Bishop (2025, Rome, Ga.) made a couple of quick appearances this weekend on the mound for the East Cobb Astros and added to his resume while doing so. The right-hander sports a high waist and long limbs, making it easy to project him being a top arm in his class before it is all said and done. His fastball is his go-to pitch as it jumps out of hand. He proved he could work it both in and out while running it up to 86 mph this weekend. What makes him so special is that he also has the offspeed stuff to complement the heater. He mixed in a sweeping slider in the mid-70s and a changeup as well. Overall the operation is fluid, and the arm action works. In 4 2/3 innings, he punched out four without giving up a run.
