MARIETTA, Ga. -- Perfect Game upperclass competition continues this weekend in Marietta, Ga. when the Southeast World Series kicks off on Thursday. Play will be centered around Perfect Game’s TOP Chops East Cobb Complex and its surrounding metro Atlanta ballparks.

For four days, 157 teams spanning three age groups (15u, 16u and 17u) will battle each other for tournament rights. Pool play for all three age groups begins on June 24 and runs through Saturday afternoon.

The 15u division boasts the largest draw with 68 total teams entered to win. Those 68 teams draw from 12 different states, even as far as Arizona. The highest ranked individual performers of this age include Exposure Prime’s Brennon Seigler (Tennessee commit), the East Cobb Astros' Ethan Murray (Georgia Tech commit), and the Home Plate Chili Dogs’ Jaxon Walker (Georgia commit).

All three of these players reside inside the top-33 nationally ranked players of their class and are three of the 11 total committed players that will be participating in this age group.

Second in size, the 16u group features 56 listed teams. Like the 15u section, the 16s draw a similarly nationally encompassed field from 10 states, as far north as New Jersey. Two of the country’s top-50 players in the 2023 class will be present in East Cobb Baseball’s John Cooper Williams (Georgia Tech commit) and Chase Meyer (Georgia commit).

In addition to these two players, East Cobb’s roster also possesses the greatest raw number of ranked players in the 16u tournament, followed closely by the Home Plate Chili Dogs and Georgia Bombers.

Rounding out the oldest section of the weekend are 42 17u teams from seven states, that will descend upon East Cobb for the Southeast World Series. The East Cobb Astros once again headline this age’s talent ranks, possessing all 10 of the tournament’s top-10 ranked players. Perfect Game regulars like Dylan Lesko (Vanderbilt commit), Termarr Johnson and RJ Austin (Vanderbilt commit), will all suit up following their participation in last week's National Select Championship.

Other top 17u talents this weekend include Smartense’s Colin Linder (Texas A&M commit), Trosky Texas’ Jose Vargas (uncommitted) and TG D-Backs’ Luke Fernandez (Oklahoma State commit). Look for the Chili Dogs, D-Backs, Smartense, and Ninth Inning Royals to compete with the Astros for later day positions.

Although play through the first round of playoffs will be held at various locations, the quarterfinal, semifinal and championship matchups for each age bracket, will take place solely at TOP Chops East Cobb’s turf complex (barring any weather-related scheduling needs). Bracket play for all three groups concludes Monday afternoon with on-site championship presentations.
