15u National Elite Scout Notes: Day 1

John Pearson (2024, Monroe, La.) is a physical presence in the Knights Knation lineup hitting in the four hole. The strength in his swing was apparent in his first at-bat of the day when he launched a ball off the wall in left field. The strength is apparent in his 6-foot, 200-pound frame with a well-built lower half that he uses to create power from the ground up in his swing. The bat comes through the zone violently looking to do damage with barrel accuracy as he has collected five hits through three games, including three extra-base hits.

Sam Erickson (2024, Hudson, Wis.), the No. 1 player in Wisconsin in the 2024 class, is now hitting .400 through two games at the 15U National Elite Championships as he got two hits yesterday. He starts with a drastically open stance but does a nice job getting back to even and hitting off a strong back side with a bat path that allows him to create leverage at the point of contact. In his first at-bat of Monday, Erickson lifted a ball deep in the left-center field gap that one-hopped the wall for a double as he jumped on a fastball, matching the plane and working up through the baseball.
