WWBA World Scout Notes: Day 1

Turning in one of the more impressive outings of the 8 am slot was right-hander Jake Moss (2022, Manhasset, N.Y.) as the Pennsylvania commit was able to go the distance in a complete game shutout. He’s a physical prospect at a listed 6-foot-1, 225-pounds and the durability to hold his stuff late into outings. The arm stroke is full through the back with a heater that ran up to 91 mph and sat comfortably in the upper-80s. Moss held that upper-80s velocity for the majority of the outing, setting hitters up nicely and spinning depthy curveballs out of the hand. The mid-70s hooks had 12/6 shape and the ability to land the pitch for strikes and lock up hitters. It was a strong look at Moss who finished with just one hit allowed and eleven strik
