Maxim Mincks (2026, Johnston, Iowa) almost threw a complete game shutout in Iowa Prospect’s 8-0 win over Phenom IL 14U Blue. In six innings pitched, Mincks struck out 8 batters and only gave up one hit. His fastball sat around 75-76 mph with a top speed of 78 mph, and he mixed in a sharp curveball that averaged 66 mph. He was able to locate his fastball all over the zone nailing the outside corner and elevating it if needed. He has a quick, repetitive delivery that made the batters have to react quickly to his fastball and off balance on his curveball. At 6-foot and 180 pounds, he has a lot of room to grow in his frame as a pitcher, and he is one to keep an eye on this summer.
