14u Midwest World Series 

Left-handed pitcher and hitter Ethan McCubbin (2027, Duluth, Minn.) excelled on both sides of the ball, tossing five innings while allowing just two hits and one earned run, and going 4-for-8 with two triples and six RBI at the plate. Registered seven strikeouts on the bump with a fastball that touched 74 and sat at 72, and a loose 12-to-6 curveball at 62. Fired both pitches for strikes from a compact delivery. Incorporated a healthy crossfire step with good intent over front side, athletic lower half should help him gain velocity. Some physicality already in 5-foot-6, 155-pound frame. In the box, showed excellent bat-to-ball skills with developing pop. Well-coordinated swing from the left side with uphill path, gathers torque in hands. McCubbin is a player to watch all over the diamond.
