2023 East World Series Preview

107 teams are gearing up for the 2023 East World Series, set to begin on Sunday, July 23. Teams from around the southeast will travel to the East Cobb Baseball Complex and surrounding ballparks to compete for the 2023 title.

With a tournament for 14u, 15u, 16u, 17u, and 18u, teams will be guaranteed four games, weather permitting.



Teams will enter into pool play starting Sunday in hopes of advancing to the championship bracket on Tuesday, July 25.

Some big teams to look out for this Sunday and next week can include the Team Elite 17u Scout team and the eXposure 15u Prime team.

The Team Elite 17u Scout, coming off a very competitive 17u WWBA, features some Top 1000 players in the class of 2024. Spencer Yu, Cooper Sanford, and Alexander Sifford are among some of the team's players who you can find out at East Cobb this coming week.

Yu, committed to George Washington to further his athletic career, is a right-handed shortstop from Nashville, Tennessee. The 17-year-old has been named two years in a row to Rawlings and Perfect Games Preseason Underclass All-American teams as a Southeast Region Honorable Mention.

In addition to the All-American teams, Yu has also collected quite a few spots on All-Tournament teams, including the 2020 14u WWBA and the 2021 15u WWBA.


For the eXposure 15u Prime team they have several top-ranked players, including a duo already committed to play baseball at the University of Alabama. Jaser Arms and Brooks Berry, two Tennessee natives, will both be heading to Alabama following high school in 2026.


Arms, a 5-foot-11 outfielder, and middle infielder, has had a lot of success at the plate so far this summer. Collecting 21 hits and two home runs, Arms has proven to be a powerhouse at the plate. Although Arms has struck out seven times this summer season, he has tallied 23 walks showing patience and control.
 
Berry, primarily a catcher, is the No.1-ranked catcher from the class of 2026 in the state of Tennessee. Coming off playing with the Exposure 17u National team at the 17u WWBA this past week, Berry has a lot of experience playing up.

On Thursday, in eXposures game against the Appalachian Aces 17u, Berry went 2-for-2 at the plate collecting an RBI.
 

With pool play kicking off for 14u, 15u, 16u, 17u, and 18u on Sunday, this is a tournament you won't want to miss. More information on schedules, tournament rules, and pools can be found on the Perfect Game website.
