Will Clinard is a 2008 RHP/1B/3B with a 6'4'', 215 lb. frame from Cross Plains, TN who attends East Robertson HS. He has a very strong and well put together build. Clinard has a fast paced delivery and does a good job hiding the ball behind his big frame and creating deception. He has a high release point and good direction to the plate and throws downhill. Clinard's fastball was pretty straight in the 88-92 mph range and he showed good command of it. His curveball had good power in the upper 70's and a nice 12/6 downer break from the high release point. We didn't see a change up. Clinard doesn't project much but everything he does right now is very good. Clinard also has some potential as a 2-way prospect at the college level due to his power. He has a long swing at the plate but tons of power and the ball jumps off his bat hard. He's going to have some trouble with velocity with his current approach but against softer pitchers he can hit the ball a long way. Clinard is a 6.99 runner and a very good overall athlete. He is also a very good student.
