Drew Rundle is a 2006 OF/1B from Bend HS in Bend, Oregon with a very projectable 6'3", 180 lb. frame. Perfect Game scouts compared Rundle to Iowa product Ryan Sweeney, now a top prospect with the White Sox, in his overall build and tools. Rundle ran the 60 in 6.72. He showed a very strong arm from the outfield at 89 mph and his throws were on line and accurate. There's no reason he can't play all three outfield spots, including centerfield. He's also played first base, although that's a waste of his speed and arm. Rundle hits from a wide stance, which takes away some of the leverage in his swing. He has a bit of a bat wrap but has very quick hands and plus bat speed, which enables him to get the bat head to the ball in plenty of time. The ball jumps off Rundles bat in a hurry and he showed bat head skills in his ability to hit to all fields and make consistent hard contact. Rundle really projects well has a hitter and is just beginning to develop overall. He has a very high ceiling. Rundle is also a very good student.
