Venters is a very athletic LHP/OF who projects at the pro level both ways. He will settle in to one or the other in time. First of all he has a 6'3 frame and weighs in at 170. 6'3/170 athletes you can project. Especially when the present day skills are excellent and the makeup is excellent. Venters is a plus runner, ran a 6.8 on a very slow track. He's capable of 6.6 maybe better. He has at least an average MLB arm from the outfield. He can hit and has lots of natural strength that creates excellent bat speed. And he tracks balls down in the outfield. On the mound in Ft Myers his fastball was a consistent 84-85 with a good breaking ball and a nice changeup. His arm works great and he knows what he's doing. And he is left handed. Venters future looks very bright. Someone might like him enough to draft in a decent spot. More than likely he will be a star college player and become an early pick later on. Remember the name, we have a good feeling about this kid.
