Miguelez was one of the big surprises of the World Underclass and will move himself up significantly on the prospect lists as a result. He’s a big athletic, live bodied southpaw who is about 6-3, 195. He has a ready made (Andy Petitte type) professional body. Miguelez’s delivery is silky smooth with very little effort or tension, which enables him to maintain both good control and a consistent release point on all three of his pitches. His fastball was a steady 87-89 mph with good late exploding life to it that made it appear even faster. Both of Miguelez’s secondary pitches were Major League quality offerings right now. His curveball was 68-72 mph with a sharp, consistent break but his change up at 80-81 mph was just nasty, a future plus ML pitch with great deception and sink to it. Don’t be surprised when you see this young man’s name mentioned all spring. Emmanuel has committed to Miami, but he has early draft potential. If we had a pick he'd go very early.
