Nick Russo is a 2025 RHP/3B with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Matthews, NC who attends Weddington High School. Strong young build with the frame to add plenty more strength. Big side step and hand drop to start his delivery, high front side into his turn, has a compact arm action that hides the ball very well, over the top arm slot that creates big downhill angle, multi-part delivery that is hard to repeat. Fastball worked up to 85 mph with big downhill angle, mostly straight. Change up was a quality second pitch, gets some cutting action and has good arm speed, can use his change up more often. Still developing feel for his curveball, body gets out in front of his release on this pitch. Young and strong right hander with two present pitches, will continue to improve with simpler mechanics and more work on his breaking ball. Good student. Named to the Atlantic Coast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
