2007 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Bobby Olseth is a 2009 C/1B/OF with a 6'1'', 180 lb. frame from Sioux Falls, SD who attends Washington HS. He has a good frame with long arms and legs and good strength potential. Olseth has very good raw arm strength and threw 79 mph during drills with a best pop time of 1.97. He also threw 2.03 in game action. Olseth's catching skills are raw but he's a very good athlete who has quick actions and light feet. His arm can be a weapon in the future. Offensively, Olseth hits out of a straight stance with a line drive type of swing. Olseth's hands are a bit slow to the ball now and he tends to pull off on contact. Like his catching skills, Olseth's hitting is a bit raw but the potential is there. His athletic ability should carry him while his skills develop.
