Hernandez is a strong 5-11, 195 lb outfielder from Tampa, Florida with an especially strong lower half. He ran the 60 in 7.23 on the slow track and threw 78 mph from the outfield during workouts with a long, slinging arm action. Hernandez hits from a rock back load and generatesvery good bat speed through the zone. He tries to lift the ball occasionally but generally does a good job of keeping his swing on plane and making solid pull type contact. Hernandez has a solid hitting foundation and strength. He should be able to be a good college level hitter. Hernandez is a good student.
