LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2006 National Showcase
Kyle Brule is a 2007 right hand pitcher from Marcos de Niza HS, residing in Chandler, AZ. Brule has a strong body and a good 6'3" 188 lb. frame that should continue to develop. As he continues to physically develop, his stuff will also make some incremental jumps. Brule was ranked #77 among PG National Top 85 pitchers. He pitches from an over the top slot and has good arm speed with some energy in his delivery. He appeared a bit anxious on the mound and was a little jumpy, not repeating his delivery as well as he can. Brule touched up to 88 mph and sat 84-87 mph with the fastball. His command is good and he showed that regardless of not having big velocity, he can and will use the fastball. Brule complemented the fastball with a 12/6ish 65-69 mph curveball. The shape was big and it was a good pitch for him. Brule also showed a 79 mph change-up and pitchability with all his stuff. He has been seen with better raw stuff in the past but approaches pitching like a pitcher. One thing he did particularly well was showing that he can pitch off his curveball. He is a D1 college prospect and should round into a weekend starter sometime by the end of his sophomore year. His best draft opportunity would appear to be following his college career or after his junior year.
