2004 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Luke is a 2006 grad from Liberty High School in Bakersfield California. At 5'11" 195 he's a very strong young man who has obviously worked hard on building his strength. Luke hits out of a wide base with a no load, no stride approach. He has good bat control and showed the ability to hit the ball hard to the opposite field. Luke strength serves him well as a hitter and he will improve further as he learns to develop more rhythm at the plate. Luke is a very good runner with pro level speed in the outfield and on the bases. He's aggressive and uses that speed. There are a lot of raw tools here that can be further developed and the college coaches need to take notice. Could have a pro future. Luke is also an outstanding student.
