Jake Thompson is a 2012 RHP/1B with a 6-4 235 lb. frame from Rockwall, TX who attends Rockwall-Heath HS. XL frame, very good present strength, physically mature. Leg raise delivery, rocks back over his back leg, rotational release, 3/4's to mid 3/4's arm slot. 86-88 mph fastball, good running action at times, slider has good bite and shape, best pitch. Tends to slow on change up. Power approach at the plate, looks to pull and lift, has some hand quickness, big leg load and bat wrap affects timing, ball jumps hard on contact, has a chance as a power hitting first baseman. Good student.
