Ian Rice is a 2012 C/3B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Huntsville, AL who attends Madison Academy. Strong well proportioned athletic build. Live bodied catcher, stays compact and quick, very good arm strength, accurate throws, good footwork, 1.80 best pop, solid in all aspects defensively. Right handed hitter, has really improved over the last six months. Open stance, big leg raise trigger, gets it down in time, very quick hands, short and clean to the ball, present bat speed, looking to pull, showed lift and pull home run power, ball jumps hard and carries, squares up consistently.
