Marcus Brakeman is a 2012 RHP/C with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Tierra Verde, FL who attends Shorecrest Prep. Well proportioned athletic build, projects some added strength. Full hands over head delivery, high arm circle, shows ball in back, stays on line well, 3/4's release, arm comes through cleanly. Steady 90-91 mph fastball with occasional run and sink, maintains arm speed well on change up with same good sinking life as fastball, tends to lower release point on change. Big sweeping curveball at 73 mph, good spin, didn't command CB well due to size, will have to tighten it up at the next level. Three solid pitches, good young arm. Very good student, verbal commitment to Stanford.
