Sam Mrstik is a 2013 SS/3B with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Iowa City, IA who attends Iowa City HS. Big strong physical build, fairly mature physically. 6.89 runner, athletic actions on defense, projects to third base at the next level, good hands with a quick release, works through the ball well, some arm strength, tends to sweep glove at the ball at times, solid overall defender. Right handed hitter, spread bent knee stance, limited load and flow, short quick simple swing mechanics, has strength and some bat speed at contact, swing path tends to get too short at times, can lengthen and extend out for better power and raw bat speed, has hitting tools to develop.
