Oscar Leong is a 2012 RHP/1B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Rowland Heights, CA who attends Cathedral HS. Medium athletic build, room to get stronger. Leg raise delivery, compact arm action, arm works well, high 3/4's release point, some effort at release. Low 80's fastball, topped at 84 mph, mostly straight. Slider best off speed pitch, late sharp break at times, tends to drop elbow on mid 60's curveball, flashes good spin at times, shortens release on change up. Showed 4 pitches, threw strikes, has the ability to keep improving. Smooth right handed swing, has some present bat speed, open stance looking to pull, good rhythm and separation, squared up on the ball, has some hitting tools. Athletic actions at first base, moves well laterally. Solid all around athlete. Excellent student.
