Sam Hamlett is a 2012 LHP/1B with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Tucson, AZ who attends Canyon Del Oro HS. Shorter build with good present strength. Compact delivery with compact arm action, tight 3/4's release point, hides ball well. Good tail on 75-78 mph fastball, best pitch sharp 66 mph curveball, deep sweeping shape, throws strikes with CB and misses bats, rare change up. Curveball is out pitch. Athletic actions at first base, soft hands and good balance. Shows strength in swing, looks to pull, good loose extension, balanced approach, some lift. Development of velocity will be key.
