Jacob Garcia is a 2013 C/1B/3B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Albuquerque, NM who attends Volcano Vista HS. Solid athletic build, good present strength. High set receiving, good footwork, release a bit long with pause at top, good arm strength with carry, handles pop ups well, takes charge on the field, likes to throw the ball, good all around skills behind the plate. Right handed hitter, open to closed approach, still hand start, tends to dive in a bit, mid to opposite field contact, some bat speed and strength at contact, line drive plane, good swing for consistent contact. Good student.
