Denz'l Chapman is a 2014 OF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends Serra HS. Short, compact build, developing some present strength. Very quick twitch athlete, accelerates quickly, 6.31 speed, shows his range in the outfield, long arm that continues to improve raw strength, centerfield tools. Switch-hitter, different swings from each side. Narrow bent knee stance left handed, big shift into contact, lots of hand/body separation, has hand quickness, has some gap power. Shorter approach right handed, rotational swing, less natural with less bat speed but potential to square up more frequently, improving gradually from both sides. Speed will always be his carrying tool. Good student.
