Sam Williams is a 2014 LHP with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Canton, OH who attends Jackson HS. Slender athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. High 3/4's to over the top release slot, deep arm action in back, stays tall over the rubber and works downhill, good lower half use, repeats mechanics, some effort at release. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, good cutting action at times. Two quality off speed pitches. Curveball has good power and sharp 11/5 break, good depth, nice change up with arm speed and some sinking action. Knows how to pitch and fills up the strike zone, quality outing. Good student, signed with Eastern Kentucky.
