Silas Grinstead is a 2016 C/IF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Palm Coast, FL who attends Father Lopez HS. Strong prototypical catcher's build. Right handed hitter, spread stance with a quiet load and a quiet shift into contact, long loose swing with an uppercut swing plane, looking to pull and lift the ball, has the strength to drive it when squared, can improve recognition of off speed pitches. Long arm action behind the plate, has raw arm strength but will have to get shorter in his release and shorter in his footwork, has strong hands and receives the ball well. Good student.
