Michael Ruff is a 2016 RHP/1B with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Apopka, FL who attends Lake Brantley HS. Large athletic build with very good present strength throughout, pretty mature physically. Smooth and low effort delivery, high 3/4's arm action, very good extension and looseness out front, has some physical projection in his arm. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 89 mph, gets good tailing life down in the zone but elevated too much this outing. Curveball shows good spin and 11/5 shape when on top of it, got on the side of it occasionally for a 10/4 sweeping break that was easier to hit. Showed two solid pitches but needs more consistency in his release and command. Good student, verbal commitment to Florida Atlantic.
