Derek Brown is a 2013 SS/OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Episcopal HS. Slender athletic build, room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, very good swing mechanics, straight tall stance, hands high, good load and hitting rhythm, squares the ball up, good swing plane with some lift and extension out front, ball carries off the barrel, has hitting tools and will improve with added strength. 6.78 runner, shows good range and athleticism at shortstop, playable arm strength with some carry, quick hands.
