Jaylen Smith is a 2015 2B/SS with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Lithonia, GA who attends Eagle's Landing Christian Academy. Slender young athletic build. Quick twitch athlete, very fast, 6.69 in the sixty, aggressive on the bases and uses his speed well. Right handed hitter, big stride into contact from a wide base, can shorten stride for more consistent timing, aggressive swing with bat speed, ball comes off the barrel hard, consistent mid field line drive contact, can get the ball to the gaps, top of the order hitting profile. Good range at second base defensively, fields the ball out front and works through the ball, arm action will need shortening, playable raw arm strength. Good athlete with offensive potential. Good student. Named to the National Underclass Showcase Main Event Top Prospect Team.
