Thomas Dillard is a 2016 C/UT with a 6-0 215 lb. frame from Oxford, MS who attends Oxford HS. Big thick chested extra strong build, physically mature. Outstanding runner for a catcher his size, 6.70 in the sixty, light on his feet behind the plate defensively, has simple and repeatable footwork and and fundamentals, good arm strength with very good accuracy, 1.90 best pop time, receives the ball cleanly, very well schooled defensively. Switch hitter, big leg lift trigger with an uppercut approach from both sides of the plate, creates big bat speed and top spin on the ball, looking to pull and drive the ball, has better bat speed and extension from the left side, top spin inhibits carry and real power but can put a charge into the ball. Very good student, verbal commitment to Mississippi.
