Sam Keating is a RHP/OF with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Fort Myers, FL who attends Canterbury HS. Nice athletic build, projects very well physically. Long and loose arm action, 3/4's arm slot, gets good plane and angle to the plate, some effort at release, arm works well out front. Upper 80's fastball, mostly straight with some arm side running action. Slurve type breaking ball with advanced feel and utility, can vary the shape and velocity of the pitch while maintaining good spin and depth. Nice change up with fading action. Has feel for three pitches and throws strikes. Very good athlete, which adds to his projection. 6.72 runner, showed big arm strength from the outfield. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide bent knee stance with a loose swing and solid contact out front. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Clemson.
