Samad Taylor is a 2016 SS/OF, 2B with a 5-9 159 lb. frame from Corona, CA who attends Corona. Very athletic, medium-built frame with good projection physically. Switch hitter, projects better from the right side. Hits from tall, narrow stance with simple approach. Very quick hands with hard line drive contact, has bat speed and consistently hits the ball hard. Will be able to drive it with more power as he continues to develop physically. Very good runner, clocking a 6.81 60 yard dash time. Showed excellent range defensively in the infield, quick twitch to both sides, smooth actions, and fundamentally solid throughout. Waits back on the ball well in the OF, fields cleanly then transfer and throws quickly, clocking as high as 85 MPH on accurate throws. Moves with obvious athleticism in both spots. Named to 2015 Sunshine West Showcase Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Arizona.
