Zach MacPhee is a 5'7" 151 pound 2008 infielder and right handed pitcher from Glendale, Arizona who attends Mountain Ridge High School. He has a compact frame with good strength and athletic actions. He is a very aggressive player who carries himself very well on and off the field. Zach is a solid middle infielder with sure hands and the footwork needed to turn double plays. He has good arm strength and showed it by throwing 88 across the infield. He has a compact arm action and makes accurate throws. At the plate, he makes good contact and has very good pitch recognition. He has the ability to spray the ball to all fields from both sides of the plate. His bat speed allows him to wait back on pitches and drive the ball where it is pitched. MacPhee throws from a 3/4 arm slot with good arm speed and looseness out front. His fastball topped out at 82 mph and his curveball at 67 mph. Zach is a good follow who is a good student as well.
