2013 Mid Atlantic Underclass Showcase
Alex Baratta is a 2015 SS/2B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Gladstone, NJ who attends Seton Hall Preparatory. Large frame, lean athletic build. Hits from an upright narrow stance, good balance to swing, solid bat speed, rotational swing, contact approach, uses whole field, can dvelop power with more incorporation of lower half. Smooth hands defensively, good footwork, accurate throws, short arm action, can stay on left side of infield at the next level if arm strength develops, good 2B projection if it doesn't. Also pitched, mid 70s from three quarter arm slot, drop and drive delivery, works quickly. Good student.
