2015 Pitcher Catcher Indoor Showcase
Cody Roush is a 2016 C/3B/RHP with a 5-10 200 lb. frame from Asbury, IA who attends Dubuque Hempstead HS. Thick and strong prototypical catcher's build. Flexible lower half and gets low to the ground receiving, has good quickness in his exchange but can improve foot quickness, very good arm strength with carry, 2.00 best pop time, showed the ability to frame the ball well. Right handed hitter, straight stance, limited stride and shift, back side tends to fly out during swing, has the strength to drive the ball with better balance and will flash gap power, handed the barrel well and made consistent contact. Also pitched, simple turn and throw delivery, compact arm action with some drop and drive to the plate. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, mostly straight but gets on hitters quickly, will drift out in his delivery and miss up arm side at times as a result. Slider is a nice pitch with good depth and some bite to it. Good student.
