Juan Gomez is a 2016 RHP with a 6-1 162 lb. frame from Caguas, PR who attends Academia Cristo de los Milagros. Tall and slender young build, lots of room to get stronger. Big leg raise delivery, some back side collapse and drop/drive to the plate, medium length arm action, 3/4's arm slot, arm is loose and easy coming through. Fastball topped at 78 mph, mostly straight, fastball lacks plain due to lack of angle to the plate in delivery. Soft curveball spin, tends to be flat in the zone, rare change up. Threw strikes with all pitches and made hitters swing the bat. Will definitely throw harder with additional strength and would improve immediately by pitching taller in his delivery. Young pitcher with some upside.
