Marcus Weinzimer is a 2020 C/1B/3B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Mission Viejo, CA who attends Trabuco Hills HS. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary catcher with a balanced, athletic stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground out of crouched and displayed clean, sound footwork. Fluid exchanges and consistently repeated actions well. Released from a compact arm slot producing accurate carry to the bag, best workout pop time of 1.94. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and gliding front side trigger. Aggressively shifts into contact with linear lower half actions. Direct hand path to contact with a clean, line drive barrel plane. When balanced, flashed the ability to generate sharp contact to the middle of the field on a line. Outstanding student as well.
