Fabio Castillo is a free agent right handed pitcher from La Romana, Dominican Republic with a muscular build at 6-3, 195 lbs. Castillo is only 16 years old and his birthday would likely put him in the 2007 class. He has very long limbs for his size and projects to get very strong in the future. Castillo has a tall delivery with good downhill plane to the plate and an extended high 3/4's release point. He has some effort to his delivery but stays balanced and showed that he could hit his spots. He does tend to fly open early. Castillo's fastball was 90-93 mph with some late running life. His 81 mph slider was sharp occassionally and he threw an 81 mph split finger as a change up. Castillo has very impressive arm strength for his age and plus present strength. He still has some developing to do mechanically but has a very high ceiling and is a top level pro prospect.
