Jason Aponte is a 2015 OF/LHP, 1B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Loxahatchee, FL who attends Seminole Ridge Community. Medium frame, thin athletic build with room to fill. Switch hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set. Quality hitting tools from the left side, good bat speed, creates leverage to unlock raw power, ball carries well when squared from the left side, good contact skills. Moves to the ball quickly in the outfield, good carry on throws, athletic actions, solid arm strength with short arm action to throws. Pitches from low arm slot with a rotational delivery that creates arm side run on fastball. Named to the National Underclass Session 3 top prospect team.
