Jack Silverman is a 2018 C/RHP/1B with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Desert Mountain HS. Large frame with very physical present build; some projection remaining as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.46 seconds. Sets up to hit from wide, spread-out base with normal hand set and high back elbow. Minimal load back, stays very short to the ball with hands on compact path. Has strength in swing along with bat speed, showed good ability to drive the ball on a rising line when timing was appropriate. Worked out defensively behind the plate, moving forward a bit at reception, receives well and shows good explosion out of crouch into throw down. Very quick release with quality arm strength, popped as low as 1.90 seconds and threw 75 MPH. Pitched as well, very short/compact arm stroke, lands online well in delivery, fastball worked 78-83 MPH with good running life to the arm side. Simple delivery that is repeatable. Flashed very sharp curveball, no noticeable hump out of hand, was able to manipulate shape of the pitch between more traditional downer shape and sharper, tilting curveball. Did a good job of throwing strikes consistently. Named to 2016 West Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
