Jacob Cornell is a 2018 SS/RHP with a 6-0 145 lb. frame from Cedar Hill, TX who attends Midlothian HS. Tall and lean, athletic frame ran a 6.82 60 yard sprint. On the mound delivery has deception, hides the ball, long arm swing and 3/4 release point. Fastball ranged from 81 to 83 miles per hour with signs of arm side run and kept it low in the zone. Curveball at 73 miles per hour and 11/5 arc showed sharp break and could throw it any count for strike. On the infield he worked through the ball with direction to the bag, smooth transition, and threw with arm strength and accuracy the bag. At the plate he has a wide base with high hands, simple swing mechanics, lands high on toe, works up to the ball with barrel and shows bat speed. Great student.
