Justin Rivero is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Lake Worth, FL who attends Park Vista Community HS. Medium, athletic build with broad shoulders and nice present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.11 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins with a short rock step and a leg lift just above belt, slight pause at balance point before driving with lower half to plate, lands slightly closed with front foot. Hides the ball well in the back and creates deception, loose arm action and works to an extended three-quarters arm slot, fastball topped out at 88 mph and shows heavy life down in the zone. Changes eye level with fastball and pitches off it, 10-4 shape to curveball at 73 mph, projects by maintaining arm speed at release. Strong arm from the outfield and shows smoothness to footwork, works through the ball well with lower half, fields the ball cleanly and shows solid carry and arm strength out of the hand. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance, has pre-pitch movement, long and loose swing through the zone, looks to pull the ball and shows strength off the barrel when squared. Named to Main Event Top Prospect List. Very good student.
