Boedy Flores is a 2018 1B/3B/RHP with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Harlingen, TX who attends Harlingen HS. Large build with broad shoulders and a strong, physical build. Takes short steps to the ball in the infield, long release with a full, easy arm action from a lower slot, arm strength will continue to develop across. Also pitched, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with full arm action coming through the back side. Small leg raise, stays tall on back side, spins off towards first base, gets on top of ball well and works down in the zone. Fastball topped at 73 mph down and mixed in a changeup and an overhand 12-6 curveball with depth at 62 mph, keeping hitters off balance well. Right-handed hitter, uses a leg lift trigger and shows simple swing mechanics. Long, upper body swing, creates nice bat speed with a line drive swing plane, occasional lift to pull side, showed strength and ability to hit to all fields. Very good student.
