Oscar Scott is a 2020 OF/RHP with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Sea Bright, NJ who attends Point Pleasant Borough. Recorded a 4.84 second 40-yd dash time. Long, lean build with present athleticism and some room to physically mature. Primary outfielder with impressive arm strength and fundamentally sound defensive skill set. Arm strength was evident and a very loud tool, recording throws up to 93 mph in drills. Ability to anticipate ball well, while gathering out in front and working through release. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a long, lean frame and projection. Worked from the stretch only in this look, using a coiled leg lift, high hand break and some effort through release. Quick, short arm action from a three-quarters arm slot and slight head whack at foot strike. Showed heavy, exploding life when in sync and flashed short slider with some tilt. Right-handed hitter with an even, spread stance and present bat speed. Incorporates a long forward stride, engaged lower half mechanics and strength through contact. Shows ability to compress baseball through the middle of the field with elongated swing path. Power potential is vast despite erratic bat-to-ball skills. Projection coupled with loud tools were impressive in this look. Will continue to improve vastly with certain swing refinements. Good Student. Named to the 2020 Northeast Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
